The hard part is rarely the landscaping
Streetscapes are built in live environments. Traffic keeps running, shops keep trading, and people keep walking through. Work is sequenced around traffic management, often at night or in short possessions, alongside other trades in a narrow corridor with nowhere to store anything.
We build in those conditions routinely — on city-centre upgrades, town centre renewals, transport hubs and subdivisions — and we plan for them from the outset rather than discovering them on site.
The civil layer underneath
Most of what determines whether a streetscape still looks good in ten years is invisible from the footpath. Street trees in hard paving need engineered soil volume, drainage and anchoring or they decline within a few seasons.
We install the technical layer as well as the visible one:
- Strata cell systems providing uninterrupted rooting volume beneath paving
- Tree pits, engineered media and rootball anchoring
- Rain gardens and stormwater treatment planting
- Drainage installation and connection
- Irrigation
- Paving, kerbing and hard surface works
- Planted beds, lawns and street furniture installation

Working alongside everyone else
Streetscape projects run with a main contractor, utilities, traffic management and often a council and a design team with strong views. Our crews are used to that. We hold the qualifications to work live corridors, we operate under ISO 9001, 14001 and 45001, and we plan our work around other people’s programmes rather than expecting the reverse.
