Christchurch is where city life meets open space and nature. Evergreen Landcare is proud to be part of it.

Our Christchurch branch opened in 2007, after we finished hydroseeding work at West Coast mines. Since then we’ve helped shape the green spaces of the Garden City, with services that improve, restore and protect the land.

We build landscapes that sit naturally in Christchurch’s environment and hold up over time.

Landscape Planting. We choose and place plants so the site looks good, the air is cleaner and the space is better to be in.

Revegetation Planting. We bring native vegetation back to cleared or degraded land, which supports biodiversity and makes the landscape more resilient.

In urban areas we combine good looks with practical function. Our amenity planting and landscape construction projects make streets and public spaces more attractive, help manage stormwater, and give people green space to enjoy.

Maintenance. Our maintenance services keep these landscapes healthy, so they need less work and cost less to look after over time.

Erosion Control: Protecting Christchurch’s Land

Our erosion control solutions keep soil in place and help vegetation establish on exposed and vulnerable sites.

• Hydro Mulching: a nutrient-rich mulch sprayed over the soil. It helps seed germinate quickly and stops erosion.
• HydroSkin: a protective layer that stabilises the soil surface and cuts down on watering.
• Hay Mulching: insulates the ground, holds moisture and keeps weeds down.
• Soil Saver Matting: keeps soil stable for the long term while vegetation takes hold.

We also offer Hydroseeding, Hydrosoil, Bioblanket and Grassing. Together these give full protection against erosion and leave sites stable and sustainable.
