Te Ara Karako Drive

Evergreen Landcare was selected as a sub-contractor to come in and complete the landscaping and sediment control aspect of Te Ara karako project which consists of installing a new road out at Auckland airport.

As part of this project Evergreen Landcare created new landscaping areas across 2 separate sections of the site as well as shaping and hydroseeding of swales alongside the newly constructed road.

The landscape installation consisted of installing topsoil, garden mix and mulch and install of a native planting scheme designed by the landscape architect and specimen trees spread across the grassed embankment and perimeter of the car park.

The swale install consisted of importing screened topsoil and shaping them as required across each of the swale sections, this was then followed up by our hydroseeding crew coming in and applying a specialised hydroseed mix to these areas.

Throughout the project, Evergreen Landcare worked closely with the main contractor and other subcontractors to ensure the landscaping and grassing aspects were completed on time and to a high standard.

The Te Ara karako project is set to be completed successfully and the new road is now surrounded by beautiful and well-maintained landscaping. Evergreen Landcare’s contribution to the project helped to enhance the overall appearance of the area.

We now have a period of 24 months where we will maintain the landscaping to a high standard and aid the establishment of planting on site to a point where is can be self-sufficient.
