Bryce Alsemgeest – General Manager

Bryce brings a wealth of experience and diverse skills to his role as General Manager. Previously serving as National Major Projects Manager, he also held a Regional Manager position, overseeing operations across Waikato and the Lower North Island. Before joining Evergreen Landcare, Bryce owned and operated a successful landscaping company, where he gained extensive hands-on experience and developed a deep understanding of the wide range of services offered by Evergreen Landcare.

With a Diploma in Landscape Design and a National Certificate in Horticulture, Bryce combines technical expertise with exceptional leadership and a proactive, solutions-driven approach. His strong management skills and commitment to customer satisfaction make him the ideal leader to drive the growth and success of our national business while fostering lasting client relationships.

Josh Jillings – Regional Manager (Northern North Island)

Josh is Regional Manager Northern North Island. Josh has 15 years’ experience in Landscaping and Horticulture sector, starting off as a Horticultural Technician learning all facets of the trade having worked across commercial, residential, and council projects, while completing a National Certificate in Advanced Level 4 Amenity Horticulture. Josh then quickly progressed into team leader and management roles, one of which saw him implement and manage the Auckland City Council’s Street tree contract for 5 years in a row as well as playing a prominent role in the completion and opening of Barry Curtis Park.

With a friendly and outgoing attitude, Josh prides himself on his attention to detail, problem solving ability and communication with customers to ensure we turn our client visions into reality.

Darren House – Regional Manager (Northern North Island)

Darren House is Auckland Operations Manager. Darren has a great passion for the environment and horticulture sector, starting off on the tools he has progressed his career through various roles in these sectors both here and in the UK picking up valuable knowledge and experience to get to where he is now.

As our Operations Manager for Auckland, his knowledge and experience are valuable to leading high performing teams to carry out various projects and maintenance programs across the Auckland region along with providing a high level of client liaison to ensure projects are on track and on time.

Jon Auld – Regional Manager (Central North Island)

Jon is Bay of Plenty Operations Manager. Jon joined the company in 2014 on the tools bringing his turf and landscaping experience. Showing strong leadership Jon soon became lead foreman, then Operations Manager. In 2019 Jon left and furthered his career gaining a lot of knowledge in the Civil Construction area, in particular project management and rejoining Evergreen Landcare in 2023.

Jons experience, knowledge and being result focused enables him to provide great service to our clients.

Simon Mitchener – Regional Manager (Lower North Island)

Simon brings 25 years of experience in amenity horticulture to his role as the Wellington Operations Manager, having worked in a range of industry sectors both within New Zealand and overseas.

With a national horticultural certification, training, experience in management, leadership, a strong focus on customer relationships and our team, Simon is best placed to oversee the landscaping and core activity 

Tim Macfarlane – Operations Supervisor (South Island)

Tim is our Christchurch Operations Supervisor. Tim joined us in September 2024 bringing a diverse range of experience in Landscaping and the environmental agriculture sector, growing up on the family farm in North Canterbury and studying Commerce at Lincoln University. Tim started his landscaping career on the tools in Vancouver, Canada quickly progressing his way into a foreman position. This driving his desire to focus on project delivery. Tims passion for transforming spaces lead him to return to Christchurch and further grow his love for the environment, changing focus to commercial landscaping and erosion control. Tim loves the Canterbury landscape and has a passion with working alongside our clients and ensuring that projects are delivered to a high standard and meet the needs of our clients from a delivery and project efficiency aspect.

 

Ben Cunningham – Managing Director

Ben Cunningham joined the business in 2010 and learned from the ground up. He is now a company director and shareholder.

Under Bens leadership the company has expanded its operations with bases across the country, offering the full package of Landcare services in relation to sediment and erosion control, land restoration and improvements, and landscaping. The company has grown from having 10 employees to now over 80 employees with a range of skills from truck drivers, machine operators, landscapers, and skilled labourers. Along with a strong management team, Evergreen Landcare can complete anything from large national projects to small residential projects.

With the support of a strong Management team, Ben will continue to develop new business opportunities to take the company to the next exciting step in a challenging environment and will ensure that Evergreen Landcare remains a market leader in the industry.

Carley Mettam – Office Manager

Carley is at the core of Evergreen Landcare’s operations, ensuring the smooth and efficient management of our office. With her sharp skills, attention to detail, and no-nonsense approach, she keeps our team of managers organized and on track.

When it comes to accounts, Carley is the friendly, bubbly voice on the other end of the phone or email, always ready to assist with a smile and find a solution. Her combination of professionalism and approachability makes her an invaluable part of the Evergreen Landcare team.
