Our Management Team

Eli Nathan
GENERAL MANAGER NORTHERN NZ

Starting off on the tools in his youth Eli has developed and progressed through his career. He has gained experience on multiple levels within the landscape and civil landscape construction practice including arboriculture, technical landscape installation, landscape assessment and design, grassing and sediment, erosion control whilst working in New Zealand and abroad. Eli expanded into management roles running his own business and then into local government running council contracts.

Eli worked as the Regional Manager at Evergreen Landcare for 4 years and now is currently the Northern General Manager. His experience is supported by education, holding an Honours degree in Landscape Architecture. Eli is also am an assessor for Primary ITO, helping others to gain this expertise. Eli’s passion, knowledge and experience in the industry gives him a great platform to oversee the Northern branches of Evergreen Landcare. Known for his approachability, practical solutions and striving for successful and timely projects.

Bryce brings a wide range of skills and experience to his role as Waikato and Lower North Island General Manager, having previously run the Waikato region. Prior to coming on board to Evergreen Landcare, Bryce, previously owned and ran a successful landscaping company. He has extensive hands-on experience and a strong understanding on the variety of services that Evergreen Landcare offer.

His management skills and can-do attitude alongside his Diploma in Landscape Design and National Certificate in Horticulture make him the perfect person to maintain and develop strong customer relations whilst over seeing the Waikato and Lower North Island Regions.

Jeremy Smart
SOUTH ISLAND REGIONAL MANGER

Jeremy Smart is our South Island Regional Manager. Jeremy had spent 12 years in the landscaping contracting market, hands on and at management level before joining the company in 2018. Jeremy’s delivery of quality work, presentation and reputation is well known in the market which has boosted Evergreen Landcare’s project delivery, along with increased opportunities.

Ricky was initially based with Evergreen Landcare out of Hamilton and came on to assist with the management role of the Cambridge By Pass. Ricky helped develop and grow the work load in the Waikato completing many different projects including landscaping and the operations of our core business; hydro seeding and hay mulching for erosion and sediment control. Ricky relocated to Wellington, taking on a new challenge and role, to assist the team push forward the mitigation planting contract on Transmission Gully along with providing our services in the wider Lower North Island Region. 

 

Now back in the Central North Island Ricky brings a wealth of experience to the Waikato & Central North Island Region

Josh Jillings
COMMERCIAL MANAGER

Josh has 15 years’ experience in Landscaping and Horticulture sector, starting off as a Horticultural Technician learning all facets of the trade having worked across commercial, residential, and council projects, while completing a National Certificate in Advanced Level 4 Amenity Horticulture. Josh then quickly progressed into team leader and management roles, one of which saw him implement and manage the Auckland City Council’s Street tree contract for 5 years in a row as well as playing a prominent role in the completion and opening of Barry Curtis Park.

With a friendly and outgoing attitude, Josh prides himself on his attention to detail, problem solving ability and communication with customers to ensure we turn our client visions into reality.

Chad’s first interaction with Evergreen Landcare was hands on as a tractor operator supporting the busy shut down seasons, his tractor skills and grassing ability were a great asset to get Evergreen Landcare through this busy end of the earthworks season. Simultaneously Chad was working on the Ararimu Farm (Director Owned) as his passion and experience comes from a great career in Farming. Having an Agricultural and Farming background he fitted in well with the Evergreen Landcare operation and was soon promoted up to his current role as Auckland Erosion Control Operations and Sales Manager.  Chad’s passion and strength in the operation and customer satisfaction have seen the Core business grow into a very dominant piece of the Auckland Sediment and Erosion Control market. Chad is a strong team player and works hard to achieve efficient and effect solutions for our clients.

AUCKLAND PROJECTS AND MAINTENANCE MANAGER

Darren has a great passion for the environment and horticulture sector, starting off on the tools he has progressed his career through various roles in these sectors both here and in the UK picking up valuable knowledge and experience to get to where he is now.

As our Projects and maintenance manager for Auckland, his knowledge and experience are valuable to leading high performing teams to carry out various projects and maintenance programmes across the Auckland region along with providing a high level of client liaison to ensure projects are on track and on time.

Alister joined Evergreen Landcare as our Project Coordinator for the Northern Expressway, overseeing the erosion control, grass seeding, and maintenance program. Bringing his hands on knowledge and attention to detail, Alister has established a base in Warkworth and is focused on growing Evergreen Landcare’s presence in North Auckland and the Northland Region. Backed by a Bachelor in Business, Certificate in Horticulture, and many years of Landscaping experience, Alister will continue to grow the Evergreen client base.

Malcolm Miller

Malcolm has over 14 years’ project management experience. Throughout his career he has successfully managed complex construction projects in high-pressure situations, delivering on time and budget.

Malcolm is approachable, and has the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with all the people he works with. He’s widely seen as someone who brings pragmatism and expertise to the team.

Simon brings 25 years of experience in amenity horticulture to his role as the Wellington Operations Manager, having worked in a range of industry sectors both within New Zealand and overseas.

 With a national horticultural certification, training, experience in management, leadership, a strong focus on customer relationships and our team, Simon is best placed to oversee operations in the Wellington region.

Ian brings a broad range of skills and knowledge to his role of Commercial Manager. Prior to joining Evergreen Landcare, Ian previously managed large council contracts as well as highly efficient business units. He has extensive hands-on experience in a variety of services that Evergreen Landcare specialise in.

His forward-thinking attitude alongside a broad and varied career make him an excellent person to maintain customer relationships, business direction and oversee the business performance across the country.

Ben Cunningham
DIRECTOR

Ben joined the business in 2010 and learned from the ground up. He is now a company director and shareholder.

Under Bens leadership the company has expanded its operations with bases across the country, offering the full package of Landcare services in relation to sediment and erosion control, land restoration and improvements, and landscaping. The company has grown from having 10 employees to now over 80 employees with a range of skills from truck drivers, machine operators, landscapers, and skilled labourers. Along with a strong management team, Evergreen Landcare can complete anything from large national projects to small residential projects.

With the support of a strong Management team, Ben will continue to develop new business opportunities to take the company to the next exciting step in a challenging environment and will ensure that Evergreen Landcare remains a market leader in the industry.

Megan joins Evergreen Landcare to bring specialised skills in Health and Safety, Human Resources and Quality Assurance to the business. With the growth and expansion of the business, Evergreen Landcare recognised was imperative for the addition of a qualified resource. Megan has developed her skillset in both New Zealand and abroad working in large multi-branch national organisations, in conjunction with her Bachelor of Commerce (Hons) in Commercial Law and Management, and she is currently working through a Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety to complement her experience in this field.

Megan’s excellent interpersonal skills and forward-thinking attitude coupled with her strong belief in taking a pragmatic approach enables her to be successful in balancing requirements and results. She is passionate about getting people home safe, and helping Managers get the best out of their people, and our clients see this in the great results Evergreen Landcare produce.

Hamish and his wife Sally purchased the company in 2003. Since then he has developed a vast knowledge and understanding of all aspects of the construction, roading, contracting, and mining industries of New Zealand.

Hamish has played a major influence in the development and expansion of the company to date and now with the strong management team is keen to keep this progress going. Making sure Evergreen Landcare’s service and delivery is true to our core values.
